16 Months Old

The last few months have been a whirlwind but you are growing and learning so fast.  I can't believe you are 16 months old!  You are less and less like a baby everyday and more like a toddler with a mind of her own.

You are about 22 lbs and 31 inches long.  You wear size 4 diapers, size 5 shoe and 18 and 24 month clothes.

Things that you've learned since your 1st birthday:
 - I'm most surprised by your communication so I've attempted to write down all the words you say that are understandable and not just ones that you repeat but something you will say/identify on your own.
 - You can say and identify/use properly: Mama, Dada, Daddy, Nana, Papa, Aubrey, Abby, ball, duck, light, hi, up, down, uh oh, outside, out, door, hello, this, that, eat, milk, drink, please, snack, love you, thank you, star, one, two, five, go, let's go, ready, yes, no, mine, whoa, don't know, shoe, eye, nose, ear, mouth, out, copter, airplane, whale, movie, bath, night night, bye bye and my personal favorite right now, turtle.  You surprise me everyday with more words you say and how willing you are to repeat words you don't know.  I'm sure I missed lots and there are a bunch more words/things that you can identify but don't say.
 - You know what the cow, monkey, snake, tiger, cat, dog, bird, fish and sheep says.
 - You know where the eye, nose, ear, chin, mouth, teeth, head, hair, belly, hand, fingers, foot and toes are.
 - You can walk pretty fast, walk backwards and are starting to try to jump.  You can go up stairs without crawling if there's only a couple and are getting close to going down.
 - You are still a great eater and are getting more and more independent.  There are some meals where you want to do everything yourself and are getting better with the spoon.
 - You have only 4 teeth with one more just poking through.
 - When I ask the question, "what's this/that?" you just repeat this/that.  We're working on that one.
 - You are really good at picking up and putting things away where we ask.
 - You now give closed mouth kisses and make the sound.  It's really cute but I think I'm going to miss the open mouth wet kisses.
 - You love your daddy so much.  The last couple months since he's gotten home has been so much fun to watch.

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Wow!  A whole year!  It's almost too hard to believe.

You have actually lost a little weight and are just under 19lbs and 30 inches long.  You wear size 4 diapers and 12 and 18 month clothes.  The goal for the next few weeks is to put on a little weight.  You are such a good eater it seems like it should be easy.

Things you have learned/do this month:
  - You can now say mama, dada, ball, hi, duck, moo, light and probably some others I'm forgetting.
 - You are on the move.  About the only time you sit still is when you're in the high chair eating.

 - You can consistently take about 4 steps but you are usually "running" to grab a hold of something.  Crawling is still the main mode of transportation.
  - You are sooo sweet!  You give such good kisses to anyone and anything.

 - You like frosting and could care less about cake :)

I did so good all year getting pictures each month and then missed your year birthday.  Here are some from Halloween, Thanksgiving and birthday party.

11 Months Old

I absolutely cannot believe you are 11 months old, Aubrey!

You are about still about 19lbs and close to 30 inches long.  You wear size 4 diapers and 12 and 18 month clothes.

Things you have learned/do this month:
  - You can now say mama, dada, ball, hi, and your personal favorite uh oh (which sometimes sounds like nu uh when you keep your lips closed).  It's really fun to throw things on the floor and say uh oh.
 - Your favorite games are pulling all the DVDs off the shelf and emptying the baby food cabinet.
 - You will now repeat words back to me!  It's so much fun.
 - You wave hi and bye and will even say hi most of the time.
 - You now spit out any food that you don't like/want.  I'm not enjoying this at all.
 - You walk barely holding on and with only 1 hand but still no attempt to walk by yourself.  You do sometimes go from standing to sitting without hanging on.
 - You will also "stand" and "sit" up on your knees and even dance and bounce.
 - You understand the phrase "I'm going to get _____ fill in the blank: you, your belly, etc."  If you're on the floor you will take off as quickly as possible giggling or if you're laying down you will just start laughing at me before I do anything.
 - You consistently sign "more" and "all done" and so are eating about twice as much as you used to.  You are such a distracted eater that I never knew you were still hungry before.
 - If I ask you to find your ball, you will go search around until you find it.  You haven't quite mastered, "bring it to, Mama" yet.
 - You will give me a 5 and put something in a bucket/pick up when I ask.

I know I'm not a great photographer, but I'm finding it nearly impossible to get a clear picture so I just have to use the blurry ones.

Hi, Mom!

Kisses!

I'm done with pictures, Mom.  I think I'll go play now.

10 Months Old

Aubrey Nicole, you are 10 months old, only a couple short months from turning 1!  This update is coming only about 2 1/2 weeks late, but I guess I have a decent excuse (post coming soon).

You are still about 19 lbs and close to 29 inches long.  You wear size 4 diapers and 12 and 18 month clothes.  The day before your 10 month birthday we spent some time in the ER again and got your constipation issues fixed so that's why I think you didn't "gain" any weight from last month.

Things you have learned/do this month:
 - You are on the move!  You crawl everywhere and love exploring.  You like to take the most difficult path (over and under things) to get somewhere.
 - You pull to stand very easily and have are cruising around furniture a lot.
 - You are getting good at feeding yourself but really only will eat puffs and yogurt melts.  Any baby food that has chunks in it you spit out.
 - Your favorite food is now a tie between carrots, yogurt and sweet potatoes and corn.
 - You have two teeth on the bottom.
 - You are becoming more and more independent and showing your little personality.  Whenever you fall or slip when you're standing up you start crying even if it's obvious it didn't hurt.  I think maybe it hurts your feelings or something.
 - You love reading books, singing/music and playing with balls.
 - You said your 3rd word - ball.
 - I think you know what a ball and book are because you typically will get them from a pile of random toys if I ask you to.

I didn't come up with any genius ways to get your picture even with Grandma here to help.
